Stressed
Horse Makes Dramatic Gain on Ration Plus™
Robert N. Ballinger, D.V.M. of Palo Duro Veterinary
Services of Canyon, Texas studied the effect of Ration
Plus™ on
stressed horses. A herd of 67 mustangs recently gathered off the Nevada
desert by the Bureau of Land Management was divided into control and
test groups. All the horses were thin and had long, dull hair coats.
Hay fed to the test horses received 5cc of Ration
Plus™ per
head daily.
After seven weeks, the supplemented horses
had gained an average of 86.3 pounds versus 41.4 pounds for the control
group-a 108.5% greater gain. Furthermore, supplemented horses shed
their hair coats approximately two weeks before the others.
Overall, it appeared to the evaluators that
the horses fed Ration
Plus™ recovered
from the stresses of shipment and changed environmental conditions
much more rapidly than the control group and had significantly improved
appearances.
